Complete Pediatrics, P.C.

Meet Our Clinicians!

MICHELLE CASERTA, MD

Dr. Caserta helped establish Complete Pediatrics in 2009 after practicing in a larger pediatric office for 10 years. She enjoys the continuity of care she is able to provide and the time she is able to spend with patients by being a part of a smaller practice. Her desire to practice pediatrics and help families stems from her growing up with a sibling with special needs; however, she has an interest in all areas of general pediatrics. The most fulfilling part of being a pediatrician for Dr. Caserta is the opportunity to help children develop into confident, balanced, healthy young adults. The one-on-one time she has with the patients at Complete Pediatrics is an important piece to that end.

Dr. Caserta grew up in Fairfield, CT and received her BS in biology at the College of William and Mary in Virginia. She attended medical school in Philadelphia at Temple University School of Medicine, then returned to CT to be with her family in 1996. She completed her residency at Yale-New Haven Children’s Hospital in 1999 and has been practicing general pediatrics in the New Haven area ever since. She is Board Certified by the American Board of Pediatrics and holds a Clinical Instructor position at Yale-New Haven Children’s Hospital. In addition, she volunteers on the advisory board for the ASD Fitness Center in Orange, CT, a specialized fitness facility for children and young adults with Autism Spectrum Disorder. Her time away from the office is usually spent relaxing in Fairfield County, enjoying the water, family, and friends.

lIESEL GOULD, MD

Dr. Gould is one of the original founding partners of Complete Pediatrics. She opened the practice in 2009 with two colleagues and friends with the goals of learning the business of medicine and of delivering high-quality medical care on a smaller scale.

Dr. Gould received her undergraduate degree from Dartmouth College and Doctor of Medicine from the University of Rochester School of Medicine and Dentistry in 1993. She completed her Pediatric Residency at Yale-New Haven Hospital in 1997. She is board certified by the American Board of Pediatrics in 2006, 2013 and a member of the American Academy of Pediatrics. Dr. Gould was in private practice in Hamden since completing her residency and is committed to the practice of medicine full time. She is a clinical instructor at the Yale School of Medicine and precepts medical students in the office along with her partners. She has been the medical consultant for the former Whitneyville Preschool of Hamden from 2009-2014 and is currently the consultant for Whitneyville Innovative Learning Center.

Dr. Gould grew up on Long Island and loves living in New England. She enjoys all things outdoors and spends a lot of time in upstate New York on a small farm with family, friends, dogs, horses and sheep.

JOHN RAMIREZ, MD

Dr. Ramirez joined Complete Pediatrics in August of 2017. Dr. Ramirez is a Los Angeles native who has been residing in Connecticut for over 10 years. After earning his bachelor’s degree in biochemistry from UCLA he subsequently pursued a career in pediatrics, having been inspired by his own pediatrician and his love for working with children of all ages. Dr. Ramirez completed his medical training at Yale School of Medicine and his pediatric residency training at UConn’s Connecticut Children’s Medical Center. The decision to practice general outpatient pediatric medicine came naturally from his desire to build strong, open, long-lasting relationships with children and families.

Dr. Ramirez is board certified in pediatrics and a member of the American Academy of Pediatrics. His interests include atopic disease, underserved patient populations, and health informatics. He enjoys working with learners of all levels, particularly the residents and medical students from Yale University School of Medicine who spend time at the office during their private practice rotations. In his spare time, he enjoys outdoor activities such as biking and hiking. He is an avid vinyl record collector and a technology enthusiast.

Elizabath Renker, MSN, APRN, CPNP-PC

Elizabeth Renker is a pediatric nurse practitioner who completed her training at the Yale School of Nursing. She is board certified in pediatric primary care through the Pediatric Nursing Certification Board. Born and raised in Connecticut, she completed her undergraduate degree in Biology at Saint Joseph College in West Hartford. She has over 20 years of volunteer experience with children and adolescents, and continues to volunteer when she and her husband aren’t busy chasing after their four daughters (and two cats)!

Her experience as a registered nurse was in the field of child and adolescent psychology, a passion which she now carries to primary care, believing that mental health plays as critical a role as physical health in the wellbeing of our children and teenagers. She strives to provide patients and families with care that focuses on the health of the whole child, from birth through early adulthood.

In her admittedly limited spare time, she loves hiking and taking bike rides with her family, exploring new culinary endeavors, and relaxing with a good mystery novel.

Catherine Martin, MSN, PNP-PC

Catherine (Katie) Martin is a pediatric nurse practitioner who received her education at the Yale School of Nursing. Katie is board certified in pediatric primary care through the Pediatric Nursing Certification Board. Katie is a New Haven native and has enjoyed growing up in a small city environment with lots of yummy pizza. She completed her undergraduate degree in Theology at Dickinson College in Carlisle Pennsylvania where she studied the overlap between religion and ethics within healthcare.

Katie’s experience as a registered nurse working in community health and as a former middle school teacher in New Haven, helped to shape her passion for advocating for and serving the underserved. Katie has worked with children for the passed 10 years and could not imagine working with any other population. Katie’s interests within medicine include Type 2 Diabetes care in children and asthma.

Katie continues to work with Yale School of Nursing as a Lecturer. In her spare time she enjoys ballet, running, hiking, and kayaking with her family.
